You’re reading Good Grief.
The following poem was originally published by Stone Canoe in 2022, and is the work of poet, professor, and poetics PhD- candidate Julianne Neely. You can read more about Neely’s work here.
So thrilled to officially share that I have finally, and among so many favorites, and my head is spinning. Thank you! I am so pleased and psyched and geeked and grateful. Please, a moment of your time. Friends, some personal news. Happy! Join me! Really hope you enjoy. The results are in and I can’t believe. So me of me to. I would. I don’t mean to brag but. An honor. I’m honored! I have been hard at work to make you feel a way. To make me feel a way. I do not want to die. I want to wake each moment to the plain possible light of language. I said I shared my flower poem but it did not make me want to live. Thanks so much for making this happen. And in such great company.
We’ll see you later this week with an original piece. Until then, have another poem or two. Or ten.
Wow, that second stanza really hits you!
